Mental Health Art Week -viikolle saapuu virolainen sirkus- & taideteatteriryhmä ”Palavakaulainen Kirahvi”!

Ryhmä perustettiin vuonna 2011 alun perin yhtä esitystä varten. Saatuaan hyvää palautetta ja nautittuaan yhteisestä esiintymisestä ryhmä kokoontui uudelleen ja uudelleen.
Kyseessä ei ole liiketoimintaprojekti, ammattiteatteri eikä varsinainen sirkus vaan taiteen muoto, jonka ammattimaiset esiintyvät taiteilijat loivat yhdessä ystäviensä kanssa.
”Palavakaulainen Kirahvi” on yhteiskunnan peilikuva lyhyiden sketsien muodossa. Sirkus- & taideteatteri uhraa modernin taiteen ja kulttuurin paradigmat outojen vitsien ja konseptuaalisten esitysten avulla. Esitys on hauska, ja he tekevät myös pilaa itsestään.

Klovnien, merenneitojen ja erilaisten outojen hahmojen ryhmä esittää elämän kummallisuuksia mimiikan ja groteskien rekvisiittojen kautta. Taiteen ei tarvitse aina olla korostetun vakavaa, ja he pyrkivät käyttämään huumoria pääasiallisena ilmaisumuotonaan käsitellessään tärkeitä aiheita. ”Palavakaulainen Kirahvi” yhdistää puhdasta esitystaidetta teatterin ja sirkuksen elementteihin ja näyttää arjen erilaisia puolia kuin vinon peilin läpi katsottuna.
Tulevassa esityksessä Lapinlahden Lähteellä virolaiset taiteilijaklovnit yhdistävät voimansa suomalaisten taiteilijamuusikoiden kanssa, jotka luovat ainutlaatuisen äänimaiseman tätä erityistä esitystä varten.

Circus-Art-Theatre ”Giraffe with the Flaming Neck” is a performance art group, founded in 2011 as one show project. Following good feedback and the pleasure of performing together, they come together again and again.
It is not a business project, professional theater or real circus. It is a form of art, which professional performance artists created together with their friends. Giraffe with the Flaming Neck´ is a reflection of society in the form of short sketches. Circus-Art-Theater sacrifices the paradigms of modern art and culture with freakish jokes and conceptual performances. It is funny, and they make fun of themselves. A group of clowns, mermaids and a large variety of freakish characters mime and use grotesque props to represent life in all its bizarreness. Art doesn’t always have to be emphatically serious, and they try to use humor as a main means of expression when talking about important things. ’Giraffe with the Flaming Neck’ mixes pure performance art with theatre and circus elements and shows the various sides of everyday life through the curved mirror.
In the upcoming performance in Lapinlahti, Estonian artist-clowns join forces with Finnish artist-musicians, who create a unique sound environment for this special performance.
