The sauna etiquette

Respect others
Everyone and every body has the right to enjoy the sauna without judgment, staring, or comments. The sauna is a place of peace and tranquility.

Keep it clean
Wash yourself before entering the sauna and use a sauna seat cover. You can also bring your own clean, reusable, eco-friendly seat cover or rent one from Café Lähde (2,50€).

Dress accordingly
Please wear a swimsuit or towel in public areas outside the sauna building.

Respectful conversation
Friendly chatting with new and old acquaintances is always welcome. However, discriminatory, insulting, or offensive language and topics do not belong in the sauna. Silence is also completely acceptable.

Caring promotes safety
Be considerate of others in the sauna. If an unsafe situation or any kind of harassment occurs, anyone can intervene and help by offering support to the person affected, contacting the sauna attendant or calling the emergency number 112. Feedback can be sent to: kahvila@lapinlahdenlahde.fi.

Consider crowds
Make room on the benches when needed, so that everyone has a chance to enjoy the sauna. The stove works best with a maximum of ten people in the sauna at a time.

Leave on time
The sauna fee allows you to stay within the sauna facilities for a maximum of two hours unless the session ends earlier.

The sauna attendant is here to help
Always follow the instructions of the sauna attendant, who represents Lapinlahden Lähde as a volunteer. Feel free to ask for help and advice if you’re new to the sauna, or if you have any questions on sauna culture and customs in general.

Best enjoyed sober
If you’re intoxicated or under the influence of substances, please refrain from using the sauna.

About the Lähde Sauna
