Meet Lapinlahti people: Johanna Helanterä

“Lapinlahti is fascinating and unique. The joys of first snow and the burning rocks of summer days, I will come here to enjoy the beautiful scenery every season of the year with my friends and family. I live in Jätkäsaari, so the Lapinlahti area is our local nature. If sometimes I just want to be at peace with my own thoughts, I don’t know where else I would go. There’s nothing like this in Helsinki. It’s important to have places to just go calm yourself, without any particular purpose. And you don’t have to spend money.
In the spring of 2017 I was interning as a culture producer at Lapinlahden Lähde. I helped organize the Finnish Association for Mental Health’s 120th anniversary celebration, which took place successfully on a beautiful spring day here in Lapinlahti.”
