Meet Lapinlahti people: Miisa and Oona

Today was the last day of Miisa and Oona’s internship at Lapinlahti, a big thank you to them!

“We are a second-year occupational therapy student Miisa Palkoranta and second-year social services student Oona Westerlund from Arcada University of Applied Sciences. We did our 7-week internship at Pro Lapinlahti in Lapinlahden Lähde. The interning weeks have gone by very fast and there’s been a good amount of things to do. Together we have held five coffee-poetry sessions, where we met participants through the Zoom application. Before the poetry sessions we always stretched and did breathing exercises.
In addition to that, we took part in different handicraft and art gatherings both remotely and in person. In the café we also started an independent handicraft corner, where the customers had the opportunity to make cards for valentines day or spring greetings.

Lapinlahden Lähde has been an ideal internship place, highlighted by its surrounding nature, open atmosphere, and friendly staff. Lapinlahden Lähde is located in an idyllic area, that lends itself to different kinds of activities. It’s been wonderful to see, how receptive this place is for all of us. The staff is the best and everyone works together!
