Surveillance in public spaces in Lapinlahti
Please be informed that technical surveillance, such as camera surveillance, has been increased in public areas of Lapinlahti. A large part of Lapinlahti is public space. Such public spaces include parks and courtyards, open corridors, open stairways, building entrances and event spaces.
In such public spaces, we have the right to carry out justified technical surveillance, such as camera surveillance. Fortunately, Lapinlahti is a peaceful area with a high level of mutual trust. Therefore, there is usually no need for very strong “hard security” solutions. Unfortunately, however, we do occasionally, albeit very rarely, experience unpleasant disturbances, vandalism and theft, so in order to prevent these and to bring potential violators of trust to justice, we have now increased technical surveillance in our public areas.
So when you or your guests are in Lapinlahti, please be aware that you may be under technical surveillance when you are in public areas. Private areas, such as our tenants’ offices or toilets and other social areas, are not monitored by CCTV.
Only a very limited number of staff from Lapinlahti’s main rental operators and solution providers have access to the material generated by the technical surveillance. The data is only processed when there is a justified need for it. If a criminal investigation so requires, the material may be disclosed at a later stage.
