Target Group
The primary target group for the development project comprises adults residing in the Uusimaa region who have experienced mental health challenges. The central societal goal of the Cultural Well-being Network is to further increase the right of the target audience to engage in culture. Simultaneously, it aims to strengthen and support the holistic participation and well-being of the target group. This is achieved by reaching them more broadly and inviting and guiding people more specifically to suitable art and cultural activities that enhance mental well-being.

The initiative is developed in collaboration with psychiatric and substance abuse services in the Uusimaa region, as well as organizations offering art, culture, and mental well-being services. The objective is to create novel collaboration models and seamless service chains between the third sector and well-being areas.

Cultural Well-being?
In this project, cultural well-being activities refer to inclusive activities aimed at developing overall well-being, with art and culture at the center. The concept encompasses a wide range of artistic methods, including music, theater, visual arts, dance, circus arts, literature, game art, media art, and multidisciplinary approaches. Professional artists guide the activities, and a collaborative model may be employed, involving social and healthcare professionals or, for instance, art therapists, along with individuals with lived experience.

Cultural well-being activities are open to all residents of the Uusimaa region, emphasizing inclusivity alongside openness.

Cultural Experience Forum

The Cultural Experience Forum consists of individuals who actively engage in cultural activities. It is a new initiative actively seeking participants. Adults of all ages who are interested in the arts and wish to promote more accessible art activities in the Uusimaa region are warmly welcomed!

Together with cultural participants, we explore various artistic activities, sharing experiences about what works and what doesn’t. Could something be done differently? How?
Ongoing collaboration with cultural participants continually shapes the activities. The idea is to gather regularly in the future. Join us to learn more and plan activities together!

The Cultural Experience Forum meets at Lapinlahden Lähde in the Omenapuutalo building, Lapinlahdenpolku 8.
