Lämpimästi tervetuloa Lapinlahden Lähteen perinteiseen ja tunnelmalliseen Elävien ääniä -tapahtumaan lauantaina 1.11.2025. Luvassa on pyhäin päivään sopivia ohjelmanumeroita, joiden kautta voi muistella poisnukkuneita ja vaalia samalla nykyhetkeä. Päivän ohjelma on maksuton.

Hämärän laskeutuessa sytytämme soihtukujan lehmuskujalle, jonka päässä ohjelmaa on tarjolla niin päätalossa, kuin Venetsiassa.

Mitä olemme menettäneet – ja mitä olemme saaneet? Tässä työpajassa pysähdymme sen äärelle, mikä on kannatellut meitä surun ja kaipauksen keskellä. Kirjoitamme kirjeitä niille, joita kaipaamme – edesmenneille, poissaolevalle tai ehkä jollekin, jota emme koskaan saaneet. Kirjoittamisen kautta syntyy sanoja, muistoja ja lahjoja, joita voimme jakaa toisillemme yhteisessä, lempeässä tilassa.

Työpaja tarjoaa mahdollisuuden:

• tutkia, mikä on auttanut meitä kulkemaan menetysten läpi
• muistella ja sanoittaa hyvää perintöä, jonka olemme saaneet
• tunnistaa toivon lähteitä, jotka kantavat meitä yhä
• jakaa kokemuksia ja kirjeitä turvallisessa yhteisössä

Tule mukaan pysähtymään, muistelemaan ja kirjoittamaan. Ehkä löydät sanoja, joita et tiennyt kaivanneesi – ja ehkä joku toinen löytää niistä lohtua.

Klo 15-17 Kaupunkiluontokeskuksen luontoaiheinen työpaja ja rauhoittava talven äänimaisema

Tarvitsetko helpotusta stressiin, ahdistukseen tai ylivelloviin tunteisiin? Tee oma talismaani luonnonmateriaaleista tarpeeseen, jonka vain sinä tiedät. Talismaani tehdään käteen sopivaksi ja huomio on tuntoaistissa. Kun tarvitset apua vaikeisiin tunteisiin, keskität vain huomiosi siihen, miltä talismaani tuntuu kädessä hengitellen rauhallisesti sen aikaa, että hankala tunne helpottaa.

Valo- tilan toisella puolella on mystinen ja rauhoittava pesä, jossa voit pötkötellä hämyisesti kuunnellen Myyri Sysiveden luomaa talvista luonnonäänimaisemaa.

Tämä on vuodenaika, jolloin kunnioitamme esi-isiämme ja jaamme menneiden sukupolvien tarinoita. Ilta on täynnä tarinankerrontaa ja livemusiikkia! Story Sharing Café on helppo ja hauska tapahtuma, jossa ihmiset eri maailmannurkista, erilaisista taustoista ja todellisuuksista, voivat tavata ja jakaa arjen tarinoita. Voit tulla yksin tai tuoda ystävän ja jakaa tarinoita ja muistoja pienryhmissä Story Sharing Café-ryhmämme jäsenten isännöimissä kahvipöydissä. Yhdessä luomme sydäntä lämmittävän ja nautinnollisen tapahtuman!

Klo 18 Helena Haaparanta

Helena Haaparanta tuo Lapinlahteen tarkkanäköistä, monen genren läpi halkovaa iskelmäpoppia. Tangomarkkinoiden 2025 laulukilpailun semifinaaliin yltäneen Helenan vahva ulosanti sekä moneen taipuva ääni ovat vakuuttaneet kuulijoita ja kriitikoita jo pitkään. Viime vuonna musiikin monitoiminainen lainasi ääntään Tanssiteatteri Hurjaruuthin Talvisirkus Fantasialle laulavan bändikapellimestarin roolissa. Useamman vuosikymmenen kestäneestä metallimenneisyydestään Haaparanta vetää tulkintoihinsa voimaa. Musiikintekijä kertoo valmistaneensa illan teemaan liittyen setillisen erikoisuuksia sekä joitakin tulevana vuonna täyspitkän levyn muodossa päivänvalon näkeviä laulujaan.

Klo 19 Kamila Ovv & Philip Holm

Kamila Ovv on huilisti, lyömäsoittaja ja puolalainen perinteinen laulaja.

Yhdessä yhtyeensä kanssa hän perustaa musiikillisen etsintänsä puolalaiseen perinteiseen musiikkiin hyödyntäen akustisten instrumenttien, elektroniikan ja ihmisäänen kaikkia ääniominaisuuksia. Vaikka yhtye tutkiikin hyvin modernia yleismaailmallista soundia, sen tavoitteena on poimia esiin perinteisen laulun vanhinta ja vaikuttavinta ydinta – yksinkertaisuutta ja ainutlaatuista kauneutta.

“Onko tää punkkia, funkkia, uutta aaltoa neljänkymmenen vuoden takaa vai mitä, ei tätä voi naulata lokeroon.”

Louisianan soitten ja vuoden -79 New Yorkin kautta Lapinlahden Lähteelle! Helsinkiläinen Gonzo Jimbonzo vääntää funkimpaa rockdiscopaahtoa; otsa hiessä, kieli tiukasti poskella. Rytmiryhmä nakuttaa tiukasti ja kitaroita väännellään ilakoivan reippaasti. Lauluja elämästä, tanssimisesta ja Valintatalon vaaleanpunaisista muovikasseista.

Klo 19 Merlyn Driver (uk)

Levynjulkaisukonsertti

Merlyn Driver on laulaja-lauluntekijä ja luonnosta inspiraation saava muusikko, jonka soundi ammentaa folkista sekä globaaleista vaikutteista ja ajan ilmiöistä.

Orkneyssa, Pohjois-Skotlannin saaristossa, syntynyt ja sähköttömällä pientilalla kasvanut Merlyn vietti paljon aikaa ulkona luonnossa. Simmerdim: ’Curlew Sounds’ (2022), oli kriitikoiden ylistämä monitaiteilija-albumiprojekti, joka julkaistiin yhteistyössä Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) -organisaation kanssa. Projekti sai valtakunnallista huomiota Ison-Britanniassa mm. BBC:n radiokanavilla 6, 3 ja 2, sekä kiittäviä arvosteluja mm. maineikkaissa MOJO, Songlines Magazine (5 tähteä) ja The Guardian -julkaisuissa.

Merlynin debyyttialbumi ’It Was Also Sometimes Daylight’ julkaistaan lokakuussa 2025. Se on intiimi meditaatio elämästä, muistoista, luonnosta ja lapsuudesta, ja sitä muokkaavat yhtä paljon akustinen folk ja nykyajan vaikutteet kuin luonnon rytmit ja tekstuurit.

Albumilla vierailevat muun muassa Owen Spafford (viulu), Nathan Riki Thomson (kontrabasso), Francesca Ter-Berg (sello) sekä monet eläinmaailman vieraat, kuten kuovit, valkoviklot, mustarastaat, lirot, valkoposkihanhet sekä useat sammakko- ja konnalajit.

A warm welcome to the traditional and atmospheric Voices of the Living event at Lapinlahden Lähde on Saturday, November 1, 2025. The program reflects the spirit of All Saints’ Day, through which you can remember those who have passed away and cherish the present moment. The day’s program is free of charge.

As the night descends, we will light a torch alley on the linden alley. The event program will be available in the main house, and in Venice.

The cafés, exhibitions, Puoti, Patina, and Primo Bakery are open.

3PM-4.30PM Grief Ceremony

A grief ceremony is a meditative, comforting space to come together, breathe, move and rest with grief. A grief ceremony is an ancient way to honor the feeling of grief together. You can bring your grief into the space for what was, is, or never was – here your grief will not be put into a mold or processed away.

Grief as a shared space opens up connection with others, with being here and the beyond. Moving through grief in a shared space, at its best, frees and cleanses the entire mind, body, and soul, to live more in the present moment. This moment is your space to let grief move and cleanse you, listening to the space of the shared ceremony and your own self.

All you need to bring is casual clothing and you can bring an object, a symbol, to the ceremony that expresses your grief.

Let’s make arrangements from natural materials that match the theme of the day!

3PM-4.30PM Letters to the longed-for

What have we lost, and what have we gained? In this workshop we will stop at what has sustained us in the midst of grief and longing. We will write letters to those we miss – the deceased, the absent or perhaps someone we never had. Through writing, words, memories and gifts are created that we can share with each other in a common, gentle space.

The workshop offers the opportunity to:

• explore what has helped us to move through losses
• remember and articulate the good heritage we have received
• identify the sources of hope that still carry us
• share experiences and letters in a safe community

Come along to stop, reminisce and write. Maybe you will find words you didn’t know you needed, and maybe someone else will find comfort in them.

Welcome to the special Elävien Ääniä Story Sharing Café at Lapinlahden Lähde!
This is the time of year when we honor our ancestors and share stories of past generations. The evening will be filled with storytelling and live music! Story Sharing Café is an easy and fun event where people from all over the world, with diverse backgrounds and realities can meet and share everyday stories. You can come alone or bring a friend and share stories and memories in small groups at coffee tables hosted by members of our Story Sharing group. Together, we will create a heart-warming and enjoyable event!

6PM Helena Haaparanta

Helena Haaparanta brings insightful, multi-genre pop to Lapinlahti. Helena, who reached the semi-finals of the Tangomarkkinat 2025 singing competition, has long impressed listeners and critics with her strong performance and versatile voice. Last year, the versatile performer lent her voice to the Winter Circus Fantasia at the Dance Theatre Hurjaruuth in the role of the singing band conductor. Haaparanta draws strength from her decades-long metal past in her interpretations. The musician says she has prepared special features for the set related to the theme of the evening, as well as some of her songs that will see the light of day in the form of a full-length album next year.

7PM Kamila Ovv & Philip Holm

Kamila Ovv is a flutist, percussionist, and traditional Polish singer.

Together with her band she bases her musical quest on Polish traditional music, using the full sound capabilities of acoustics instruments, electronics, and the human voice. In spite of exploring very modern global sound, the goal of the band is to extract the oldest and the most impactful essence of traditional song – its simplicity, its core message, and its unique beauty.

8.15PM Gonzo Jimbonzo

“Is this punk, funk, new wave from forty years ago or what, you can’t nail this down.”

Through the sounds of Louisiana and New York in 1979 to Lapinlahden Lähde! Helsinki-based Gonzo Jimbonzo spins the funkiest rock disco roast; forehead in sweat, tongue firmly in cheek. The rhythm section taps hard and the guitars are twisted with a joyful, brisk pace. Songs about life, dancing and the pink plastic bags of Valintatalo.

7PM Merlyn Driver (uk)

Album release concert

Merlyn Driver is a singer songwriter and nature-focused musician, whose sound draws on folk, as well as other global and contemporary influences.

Born in Orkney, an archipelago in the north of Scotland and raised on a smallholding without electricity, Merlyn spent much of his time outdoors. His critically acclaimed multi-artist album project, Simmerdim: Curlew Sounds (2022), released in partnership with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), received national UK radio play from BBC Radio 6, 3, and 2; and reviews from the likes of MOJO, Songlines Magazine (5 stars), and The Guardian.

Merlyn’s debut album, It Was Also Sometimes Daylight, will be released in October 2025. An intimate meditation on life, memory, nature, and childhood, it is shaped as much by acoustic folk and contemporary influences as by the rhythms and textures of the natural world.

Guests on the album include Owen Spafford (fiddle); Nathan Riki Thomson (double bass); Francesca Ter-Berg (cello); and various creatures including curlews, greenshank, blackbirds, wood sandpipers, barnacle geese, and multiple species of frogs and toads.

Accessibility: The 1st floor of the Lapinlahden Lähde main building is accessible via the ramp on the Ruoholahti side door. When you arrive, ask for help – the staff will be happy to help! The 2nd floor of the main building and the Venice building are only accessible by stairs.
