Kymmenen maalausta, öljypastellia paperille. Kaikki teokset rakentuvat yhden muodon ympärille: pyörteen, joka vetää kohti yhtä valopistettä. Harvoin katsomme maailmaa tästä näkökulmasta: alhaalta ylöspäin oksien läpi tai ylhäältä niin, että koko maisema avautuu kerralla sen sijaan, että katse etenisi yksityiskohdasta toiseen. Kyse on pienestä näkökulman muutoksesta, mutta se muuttaa kaiken muun.

Puut kaartuvat kuin suonet. Vesi liikkuu spiraaleina. Maisemissa on ihmisiä – lapsi, äiti vauvoineen, maiseman yllä kelluva uimari ja juurien keskellä lepäävä hahmo. He jakavat saman maan, kokevat saman virtauksen ja kulkevat kohti samaa keskipistettä.
Silti he eivät koskaan aivan kohtaa.

Juuri tämä kulkee teosten läpi – ei yhteys eikä myöskään erillisyys, vaan jokin hiljaisempi: se osa ihmisestä, joka säilyy koskemattomana riippumatta siitä, kuinka lähellä hän on toista tai kuinka paljon yhteisiä juuria heillä on. Kaksi ihmistä voi seistä samassa valossa ja silti kantaa sisällään täysin erilaisia maailmoja.

Näissä maalauksissa ei ole selkeää alkua tai loppua, eikä yhtä hahmoa nosteta toisen yläpuolelle. Kaikki kiertävät saman keskipisteen ympärillä tasavertaisesti.

Ehkä juuri tämä jää lopulta katsojan mieleen: maailma voi olla yhteinen, mutta silti kuulua kokonaan yhdelle ihmiselle.

Anna Arkharova on Virolahdella työskentelevä Suomessa asuva kuvataiteilija, joka työskentelee pääasiassa öljypastellin parissa. Hänen teoksensa käsittelevät kiertokulkuja, omaa näkökulmaa ja sisäistä yksinäisyyttä, joka säilyy myös yhteisesti jaetuissa maisemissa.

Ten paintings, oil pastel on paper. All of them built around one shape: a vortex, pulling toward a single point of light. You rarely look at the world this way – from below, looking up through branches, or from above, taking in a whole scene at once instead of reading it piece by piece. It’s a small shift in angle. But it changes how everything else sits.

Trees curve like veins. Water moves in spirals. People appear inside these landscapes – a child, a mother and her baby, a swimmer drifting above a landscape, a figure resting among roots. They are on the same land, experience the same current, and are drawn to the center. And yet none of them quite touch.

That is the real thread running through this work – not connection, and not separation either, but something quieter: the part of a person that stays untouched no matter how close she stands to someone else, or how many roots they share. Two people can stand in the same light and still carry entirely different worlds inside them.

These paintings don’t have a clear foreground or background. No single figure placed above another. Everything circles the same point, equally.

What stays with you afterward, maybe, is this – a world can be shared, and still belong completely to one person alone.

Anna Arkharova is a Finland-based artist working from Virolahti, primarily in oil pastel, exploring cycles, own perspective, and the inner solitude that persists within shared landscapes.
